Run member communications for a 7-person guild serving state and tribal fisheries professionals.

You will run member newsletters, website updates and media relations for a small guild serving state and tribal fisheries professionals. You report to the executive director and work as one of 7 staff in Salt Lake City.

The guild represents 2,100 state and tribal fisheries professionals with a staff of 7 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Executive Director Nils Haverkamp sits on NANA's board audit committee and represents the Rocky Mountain chapter.

What you'll do

  • Write and send the guild's member newsletter and email updates

  • Maintain the guild's website and member-facing content

  • Handle media inquiries and draft press statements

  • Coordinate communications around the guild's annual meeting and regional gatherings

  • Support member surveys and share findings back with members

  • Manage the guild's social media accounts

  • Draft talking points for the executive director's public appearances

What you bring

  • 3+ years in nonprofit or association communications

  • Comfort as one of a small staff handling communications end to end

  • Strong writing for newsletters, web copy and press statements

  • Experience with email marketing and basic web content management

  • Familiarity with natural-resource or government-agency audiences is a plus
