Government Relations Associate

You will support federal advocacy for 260 community lenders to family farms, reporting to Vice President of Government Relations Emeka Nwosu-Hart. The coalition's nine-person Washington staff tracks agricultural-finance policy and co-chairs a working group with NANA's Mid-Atlantic chapter on government-relations practice.

• Track federal legislation and rulemaking affecting agricultural lending

• Draft summaries of pending bills and regulations for member lenders

• Support Emeka Nwosu-Hart in preparing testimony and meeting materials for Hill visits

• Schedule and staff meetings with congressional and agency staff

• Maintain the coalition's legislative tracking database

• Draft member alerts on advocacy priorities and action items

• Coordinate the coalition's participation in the Mid-Atlantic government-relations working group

• 2+ years in government relations, legislative staff work or association advocacy

• Strong writing for policy summaries and member communications

• Comfort scheduling and staffing meetings with congressional offices

• Familiarity with agricultural finance or lending is a plus

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in public policy, government or a related field
