Federation of Food Bank Networks

Grants Manager

Manage federal and foundation grants for a federation of 96 regional food-bank networks.

The Federation of Food Bank Networks is hiring a Grants Manager to run federal and foundation grant strategy for its 96 member networks, starting as a proposed 10% cap on indirect costs works through federal rulemaking.

About Federation of Food Bank Networks

The Federation represents 96 regional food-bank networks from a 24-person staff based in Detroit. Member networks depend on federal commodity and emergency-food grants alongside foundation support, and the Federation negotiates indirect-cost rates and reporting requirements on their behalf. NANA is tracking the proposed indirect-cost cap as Federal Grant Indirect-Cost Cap, and this role will brief member networks on what a lower cap means for their budgets.

What you'll do

  • Manage a portfolio of federal, state and foundation grants supporting member networks

  • Track compliance deadlines, drawdowns and reporting across active awards

  • Draft indirect-cost rate proposals and negotiate them with federal program officers

  • Brief member networks on how proposed rulemaking, including the indirect-cost cap, would change their funding

  • Maintain the Federation's grants calendar and a shared tracker of upcoming solicitations

  • Review sub-grant agreements between the Federation and member networks for compliance

  • Prepare board-level summaries of grant performance twice a year

What you bring

  • 4+ years managing federal or foundation grants, ideally in food security or human services

  • Working knowledge of 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and indirect-cost rate negotiation

  • Experience writing grant reports and budget justifications under deadline

  • Comfort explaining regulatory changes to non-specialist member staff

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent grants-management experience

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with a 4% employer match

  • 15 days of paid time off plus federal holidays

  • Hybrid schedule with two remote days per week

How to apply

Submit a resume and a cover letter describing a grant you managed through a compliance audit to careers@cortex.agencyq.ai with "Grants Manager" in the subject line.
