Membership Manager
Run the renewal calendar and onboarding for 1,900 member libraries, most with fewer than ten staff.
You will run the renewal calendar for 1,900 member libraries, most of them with fewer than ten staff. The job is a 120-day cycle of notices, calls and invoices, plus onboarding for about 150 new members a year. You report to the executive director and work with a two-person membership team in Baltimore. Prior AMS experience is required. Experience with small or rural members is a plus.
About Federation of Community Libraries
The Federation represents 1,900 small and rural public libraries with a staff of 16 in Baltimore, Maryland. Executive Director Lucinda Farrow-Mbatha has testified alongside NANA on postal rates; her federation mails 1.1 million pieces a year.
What you'll do
Run the 120-day renewal cycle: notices, calls and invoices
Onboard roughly 150 new member libraries a year
Maintain membership records in the federation's AMS
Report renewal and growth metrics to the executive director
Coordinate with the two-person membership team on workload and escalations
Respond to member questions about dues, benefits and account access
Support dues invoicing alongside the finance team
What you bring
Prior AMS experience is required
Experience working with small-staff or rural member organizations is a plus
2+ years in membership operations at an association or nonprofit
Comfort managing a high-volume renewal cycle with firm deadlines
Clear phone and written communication with small-staff member libraries
