Program Coordinator

Coordinate programs and member communications for a four-person staff serving 390 youth orchestras.

You will support programs for 390 youth orchestras on a staff of four in Seattle. The job is 25 hours a week, split between member communications, event logistics for the federation's two annual conducting workshops, and a scholarship program for youth orchestra managers new to the field.

The federation represents managers of 390 youth orchestras nationwide, from community programs of 30 students to citywide youth symphonies. Its four-person staff runs out of Seattle.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate logistics for two annual conducting workshops, each drawing 60–90 attendees

  • Manage the federation's newsletter and member email calendar

  • Process applications for the federation's 12-scholar-a-year new-manager scholarship

  • Maintain the member directory and update contact records after each renewal cycle

  • Support the executive director with board meeting materials and minutes

  • Coordinate exhibitor and speaker logistics for the annual conference

What you bring

  • 2+ years in nonprofit program or membership coordination

  • Comfort with member database software and email platforms

  • Strong written communication for member-facing newsletters

  • Experience supporting event logistics for gatherings of 50+ people

  • Availability for a 25-hour week with some evening work during conference season
