Shared-Services Finance Manager

You will close the books, run payroll and manage dues billing for a second cluster of small associations inside NANA's Southeast shared-services pilot, working alongside the finance manager already hosted at the council. You report to the council's finance director and split your week across the member organizations you're assigned.

The council represents 230 textile mills and manufacturers with a staff of 12 in Charlotte, North Carolina. President and CEO Dana Whitfield, who also chairs NANA's Southeast chapter, built the shared-services model in 2023 to keep small associations from paying for a full-time controller they needed eight hours a week. The pilot has grown from 5 associations to 11, and NANA plans a national rollout at the Southeast Shared-Services Forum on 2027-08-12.

• Close monthly books for a portfolio of member associations in the pilot

• Run payroll and benefits administration for staff at those associations

• Bill and reconcile membership dues on each association's own schedule

• Prepare quarterly financial statements for each association's board

• Coordinate with the council's existing finance manager on shared vendor contracts

• Support each association's annual audit and Form 990 preparation

• Track shared-services costs and report utilization back to the council

• 4+ years of nonprofit or association accounting experience

• Comfort managing books for more than one organization at a time

• Working knowledge of dues billing and renewal cycles

• QuickBooks or comparable small-nonprofit accounting software experience

• Clear written reporting to boards that meet infrequently
