The Alliance of Regional Arts Presenters is hiring a Staff Accountant to handle day-to-day bookkeeping and monthly close, reporting to CFO Colette Dufresne-Hale.
About Alliance of Regional Arts Presenters
The Alliance represents 540 touring and presenting arts organizations from an 11-person staff in Boston. Dues, event registrations and grant pass-throughs all run through a small finance team, and this role is the second full-time position on it, working directly under CFO Colette Dufresne-Hale.
What you'll do
Process accounts payable and member dues receipts weekly
Reconcile bank and credit-card accounts each month
Prepare journal entries and support the monthly close under Dufresne-Hale's review
Track grant and sponsorship revenue against restricted-fund requirements
Assist with the annual audit by pulling supporting documentation
Maintain the fixed-asset schedule and depreciation entries
Process expense reports and reimbursements for staff and board members
What you bring
2+ years of bookkeeping or staff-accountant experience, nonprofit preferred
Working knowledge of fund accounting and restricted versus unrestricted revenue
Proficiency with QuickBooks or a comparable general ledger system
Comfort with month-end deadlines and audit documentation requests
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
