Dues Model Pilot Results Webinar

Any member weighing a change to its own dues structure should register for this hour-long webinar, the close of the Dues Model Study's Phase 2, in which twelve associations piloted a new dues model between September 2026 and May 2027. Treasurer Haruko Tanaka, who leads the study, and Director of Research Inês Carvalho-Reyes, who has fielded its data with Fieldstone Data Partners, will present the findings.

Kenji Albrecht, chief financial officer at the National Society of Water Utility Engineers and one of the pilot's named participants, will join to describe what changed for his organization over the pilot period, alongside Tanaka and Carvalho-Reyes's presentation of the study's results across all twelve pilot organizations. The session follows Phase 1's Dues Model Benchmarking Report, released in July 2026, which found tiered-dues organizations outperforming flat-dues organizations under 500 members.

A moderated Q&A follows the presentation. NANA's own Individual dues have held at $195 since 2023, and whether the organization moves to tiered Organization dues remains an open question the board has not decided; attendees should not expect this webinar to announce a change to NANA's own dues.

Tanaka will also lay out what Phase 3 of the study looks like, including which of the twelve pilot organizations are expected to keep their new dues model past the pilot period and which are reverting to their prior structure. Attendees whose associations are weighing tiered dues can use the session to compare their own membership size and revenue mix against the pilot cohort before deciding whether to volunteer for a future phase.

Treasurers and finance staff considering a dues change should bring their organization's current dues schedule and membership count; Tanaka's presentation includes a worksheet for comparing an association's own numbers against the pilot's results.
