Who attended

The Southeast chapter hosted its second Membership Growth Summit at the Atlanta Convention Center on April 8 and 9, 2026, drawing membership directors from across the country in person and by livestream — a larger crowd than the first edition drew in Atlanta the year before.

What attendees left with

Chapter chair Dana Whitfield opened both days, and Julian Achterberg, NANA's Director of Membership and Chapter Relations, led with the national renewal benchmarks his team tracks across all six chapters. Noor Haddad-Ellison, chief membership officer at the League of Independent Pharmacists, drew the summit's biggest crowd with the story of reversing a four-year membership decline between 2023 and 2025 — a case study attendees kept referencing through the rest of the two days.

Declan Moorfield and Mei-Lin Harbaugh co-presented on the engagement-scoring model Moorfield built, which flagged at-risk renewals ahead of NANA's own 2026 renewal cycle. Beatriz Solano-Whitaker, speaking at the Summit for a second year running, covered membership growth in a coastal-planning niche where member counts are capped by the size of the profession itself.

"You don't grow a niche association by recruiting outside it. You grow it by keeping the members you already have for longer."

— Beatriz Solano-Whitaker

Graham Tolliver-Reyes led a session on hybrid meetings as a membership retention tool, and Yolanda Pruitt-Ames closed the second day with a session connecting inclusive board recruitment to membership growth. Between sessions, sponsor Brightfold Registration ran a badge-printing demonstration for attendees curious about switching systems before their own conference season, and Coalition Print & Mail staffed a table on direct-mail renewal campaigns.

Venue and travel

The Summit met at the Atlanta Convention Center. Registration ran $495 for members and $795 for non-members, with a $395 early-bird rate, and carried up to 10 CAE credit hours. A hybrid livestream option drew registrants who could not travel to Atlanta.
