Civic Ledger Software selected to build NANA's new member portal
NANA selected Civic Ledger Software, one of its own Presenting sponsors, to build the new member portal following a spring RFP.
NANA has selected Civic Ledger Software to build its new member portal, following the request for proposals issued in March. Building will run from September 2025 through May 2026.
The disclosure
Civic Ledger Software is a Presenting-tier sponsor of NANA events, including the annual Summit. Director of Digital Renée Okafor said the vendor selection process was run independently of the sponsorship relationship, with proposals scored by a team that did not include staff who manage sponsor relationships, and that NANA is disclosing the sponsorship connection directly rather than leaving members to discover it on their own.

Why Civic Ledger
Civic Ledger Software builds association management software for dues, events, and membership, and was evaluated against the same three priorities NANA set in its March RFP: a single sign-on across NANA's systems, one unified resource library, and searchable chapter directories. Okafor's team scored Civic Ledger's proposal highest on implementation plan and data-migration approach, the two criteria the team had identified in advance as carrying the most risk.
The build runs eleven months, from September 2025 through May 2026 — a timeline Okafor said reflects the scope of migrating member records, resource-library content, and event-registration history across all six chapters into a single system.
What's ahead
The project moves next into a discovery phase, where Civic Ledger's implementation team will map NANA's existing systems before migration work begins. Okafor's team plans to keep chapter leaders informed as milestones are reached, given how directly the portal touches chapter-level operations like directories and local event registration.
No specific launch date has been set beyond the May 2026 target for build completion; a public launch typically follows build completion by several weeks for testing. NANA will announce a firm launch date as the project progresses.
Scope of the migration
The portal will need to carry over member records, resource-library content built up over years of research and toolkit publishing, and event-registration history spanning every chapter's own programming, not just national events. Okafor's team has identified this migration as the largest technical risk in the project, ahead of vendor selection itself, since a single sign-on that loses or scrambles a chapter affiliation on launch day would leave members worse off than the current system of separate logins.
Civic Ledger's migration plan sequenced member records ahead of resource-library content and event history, which Okafor's team cited as one factor separating it from competing proposals. The vendor has not previously built a portal at this scale for an association of NANA's size, though its existing product serves smaller and mid-size associations across dues, events, and membership management.
