State of Associations Quarterly: 2025 Q1
A quarterly data brief on what predicts chapter roundtable and event attendance across NANA's six regions.
The first brief in the 2025 State of Associations Quarterly series looks at chapter participation: what share of a chapter's member organizations send someone to a monthly roundtable or signature program, and what predicts higher attendance. Drawing on responses from NANA's six regional chapters, it finds that meeting cadence and format matter more to attendance than chapter size or region.
The brief compares monthly roundtables against quarterly meetings, and looks at how virtual and rotating in-person formats affect participation among member organizations with the smallest staffs. Chapter leaders weighing a cadence or format change will find the clearest signal here: rotating an in-person meeting's location across a chapter's footprint raises participation among the smallest member organizations more than any other single change the brief measured, without reducing attendance from larger organizations already showing up.
